The Card Payment Gateway is cost effective and reduces staff administration by enabling your students, parents and other payers to make a payment 24/7, 365 days a year from anywhere on the globe with any device with web access.
PAYERS ARE NOT REQUIRED TO WRITE A CHEQUE, ATTEND A PARTICULAR LOCATION OR MAKE CONTACT WITH A MEMBER OF STAFF TO MAKE A PAYMENT.
Overseas payers no longer have to arrange/write transfer or lines of credit and can use their locally issued credit, debit or charge card (assuming the card issuer is supported by the PSP). The system also tracks all successful and attempted payments, providing you with a transparent record of activity which can be accessed easily.
HOW IT WORKS
NO LIMITATIONS ON THE TYPE OF PAYMENTS TAKEN ONLINE
The CPG solution can easily be adapted to take payments for various other common items from college/university students and non-students alike, including:
- Tuition and accommodation fees or deposits
- International deposits

- Printing credits
- Topping-up of EPOS credits

The solution is suitable for any type of payment from relatively large value tuition and accommodation fees through to smaller value miscellaneous and incidental costs.
PAYMENTS ARE PROCESSED IN "REAL-TIME"
Transactions are processed in "real-time" via an online Payment Service Provider (PSP). Typically the PSP is connected to a main bank although we have also worked with a number of other independent providers which, among others, include:
SUPPORTS MULTIPLE PSPS
The Card Payment Gateway solution is Payment Service Provider independent and can support multiple PSPs and merchant accounts within a single implementation. This also allows the use of different PSPs for different commercial entities using the solution.
A fundamental advantage of the solution is that as it is not dependent on any one PSP and it is possible to, with a minimal amount of disruption, to change from one PSP to another at any point. This means the higher or further education institution is not reliant on any specific PSP and can shop around for the best combination of transaction charges and functionality.
It is also possible to run a combination of PSPs in situations where transaction volume or value dictates that one cannot adequately cater for both extremes. WPM Education does not take any "cut" of the actual payment allowing you to decide which PSP provides the best fit in terms of functionality and charges.
EASY INTEGRATION WITH ALL YOUR EXISTING SYSTEMS
The Card Payment Gateway is completely modular allowing easy integration with your existing internal systems. It can be implemented within just a few weeks, it's simple to use, set up and administer, requiring minimal input from the university or college. Even more, once it has been implemented it can easily be updated and expanded to increase payment options and functionality, ensuring that it is a long term element of your e-payment strategy. The solution can easily support multiple system links to account for separate payment types and processes.
STUDENTS CAN PAY IN THEIR LOCAL CURRENCY
The Card Payment Gateway supports Dynamic Currency Conversion which gives your users the option to pay in their local currency and support multiple languages, dependent on the PSP's functionality. DCC is especially suited to institutions with a large number of overseas students or where services are actively marketed to an overseas audience.

The system addresses the sensitive security issues associated with holding card details in hard copy or electronic format. As more and more stories of leaked and lost customer data hit the headlines and heightened importance being placed on the PCI Data Security Standard, it is now more of an issue than ever for institutions to hold hard copy and electronic card details in a secure manner. The Card Payment Gateway enables you to maintain control over card payment collection and processing while removing and minimising internal PCI DSS compliance requirements.
