The Online Store is an easy to use, quick and versatile solution that enables institutions to sell their goods and services online through a familiar and intuitive shopping basket interface.
The Online Store system is essentially an off-the-shelf university or college branded online solution used to increase revenue and reduce cash handling onsite by providing a tool for staff to add and sell a wide range of products and services via a website that is available to the public, or group with specified access to purchase from the university or college securely 24/7.
The Online Store was originally created as an online 'product catalogue' but it quickly became apparent that taking payment for services was the primary driver for take-up and expansion of the Online Store. Since its launch in 2004 the Online Store system is now used by universities and colleges to sell a wide range of products and services from booking conference and events to purchasing printer credits, from ordering replacement ID cards to booking short courses.
As the need for institutions to increase their revenue increases, the Online Store system has seen substantial growth, with some institutions now using it to process several millions pounds annually, and across the sector payment volume is more than doubling annually.
ONLINE STORE: HOW IT WORKS
The Online Store is a stand-alone solution which can be adopted by the institution as a whole and/or used by individual departments as required.
The interface can be seamlessly linked directly from the institution's website, branded to the institution's requirements and integrate with all the institutions processes and existing systems. Read more
