ONLINE STORE V4 NOW LIVE

We are pleased to announce that the latest version of the Online Store V4 was released on Saturday 30th July 2011

Online Store V4 signifies a major version iteration of the Online Store and allows the release of several major developments to enhance existing and new modules.

The release of V4 will be the first step in this process by providing a new Administration user interface, with two new modules, which we will then build on over the coming months and years.

In response to user comments we intend to initially allow institutions to run the V3.53 admin interface in tandem with the new V4 one, but access to the new functionality and modules will only be available via the V4 interface. This cross-over will be available for a short time period to ease your resource pressures regarding user training and communication.

The phased rollout of changes allows us to provide users with more regular updates as well as ensuring that the impact of changes to day-to-day user activity is minimised.

Online Store V4: Q&A

1. What visual changes can I expect in V4

Version 4 is a complete visual overhaul of the administration interface for the Online Store. To make the transition from V3.53 to V4 as simple as possible we have left the main processes and workflows in the system untouched. You will still create products, courses, events and ceremonies in the same way.

2. Are there any new features in V4

As well as improving the look and feel of the site we are introducing a brand new reporting tool to the store in this release. V4 Reports have been running as a pilot with nine institutions over the last few months. Using their feedback we have made a number of tweaks and improvements to bring you a completely new reporting mechanism. V4 Reports will allow you to specify the columns you want to include, to save your preferred layout on a report by report basis and to include more data fields in reports than ever before.

3. How do I get V4

When you log into your account after the release you will see a switch that allows you to change just your account to use Version 4. Once you’ve made the switch you can move back and forward between the two versions as often as you like until 3.53 is closed in November.

4. Can I switch all users in a store to use V4

Yes, as a system manager you will be able to make a store wide (so your test store or your live store) switch to using V4, this will mean that all administrators logging into your store will be presented with the new interface irrespective of the individual choices they have made.

5. How long will V3.53 remain available

Version 3.53 will be available to use until 30th November 2011 at which point it will be switched off completely and all users will move to version 4. During that time no changes will be made to V3.53 and any new features and improvements will be available in V4 only.

6. Will I need to do anything to access the new V4 Reports tool

System Managers will have access to this tool by default, if you want other users in your Online Store to access the new V4 Reports simply assign permissions within their User Group in System Management to allow them access.
