ONLINE STORE
The Online Store is an easy to use, quick and versatile solution that enables institutions to sell their goods and services online through a familiar and intuitive shopping basket interface.
The framework is based on allowing one or more customer facing 'stores' within an institution all of which are controlled through a single administration interface. This means that each store can a have separate visual identity, configuration and administrator access. This includes allowing different payment service providers or merchant accounts to be used within each store. The implementation of separate stores is normally dependant on the institutions requirements from either a financial or logistical point of view, i.e. one store can be used just to sell short courses and another for general services.
The Online Store, like WPM Education's other solutions, benefits from secure managed hosting ensuring that availability is guaranteed and that no additional physical hardware or software is required. Updates occur seamlessly and WPM Education ensures that, within the annual licence fee, all mandatory changes are made as and when required to ensure the stores stay compliant with current requirements.
MODULAR APPROACH
WPM Education has used the third evolution of its Online Store application to provide a fully modular framework. Building on over seven years of experience in providing online payment solutions to the sector this approach offers the best mix of both "off-the-shelf" and bespoke developments, allowing institutions a much greater element of control as well as the flexibility to still have one-off developments specific to their own requirements.
This modular approach has allowed WPM Education to expand on the core functionality of the Online Store and produce a Product Catalogue module that provides all the required functionality to list and sell products and services online.
Intrinsically linked to all core and optional modules are the System Management and Order Processing elements of the system. These apply for all of the operational modules and ensure that there is a simple way to control and administer all day-to-day processing requirements in a single place.
